Barb Hodum

Barb is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). She earned her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois and brings over 20 years of experience helping adults as well as children and their families. In addition, Barb has done clinical supervision with staff and interns. She also has extensive experience in program management and development.

Barb believes that everyone has a story that impacts their perspective, emotions, relationships and decisions. She warmly and caringly works alongside her clients to help them make sense of their story and achieve their goals in a safe, supportive environment. She compassionately assists her clients as they identify their strengths and reach desired solutions.

Barb studied Sandplay in Switzerland. Sandplay is a creative form of therapy for adults and children and a valuable tool for insight and self-expression. Children who work with Barb find Sandplay a particularly effective tool for self-expression. She also used EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing) and other clinical approaches, which empower, provide support and achieve positive outcomes.

Barb provides counseling to individuals, families and children and specializes in therapy for anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, life transitions, self-discovery and stress management.
