Danielle Yocum

Danielle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been providing mental health services and working with individuals, groups and populations since 2010. Danielle earned her Associates in Arts and Sciences from Spoon River College, and went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Western Illinois University, in which she serves on the BSW advisory board. Danielle received her Master's Degree in Social Work from University of Illinois- Urbana/Champaign, with a concentration in Mental Health. She completed her MSW internship providing mental health services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Danielle began her career in social work by working with individuals experiencing homelessness in McDonough county, providing case management and mental health services. She went on to work in community mental health, providing mental health services to children, teens and adults. Danielle also worked for IDOC, providing mental health services to individuals who were incarcerated. Danielle also has experience in providing psychotherapy in skilled nursing facilities and has experience in dealing with chronic illnesses.

Danielle's focus now is providing mental health services to children, teens and adults and specializes in anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and trauma-focused therapy. She utilizes CBT and DBT principles to assist individuals in coping with stressors and symptoms, while providing a therapeutic environment which is relaxing and calm. She strives to make connections to clients and provide therapy in a safe environment while focusing on their strengths to build resiliency and empower clients to implement change. Danielle utilizes her love of comics and video games to connect with individuals, especially children and teens.

When Danielle is not working, she enjoys playing World of Warcraft and spending time with her husband, and their cats, dog, ferret and rabbit.
