Ryan is a trauma-informed, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families. Ryan also finds great value in helping adults with trauma and relationship issues through both individual and couple's therapy. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Bradley University in 2015, and earned his Master's Degree from Northern Illinois University in 2017, in Applied Family and Child's Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Ryan uses a variety of treatment approaches to work with those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma- related needs, feelings of low self-worth, parenting stressors, family communication needs, and the challenges with grief. He specializes in providing support for parents and other caregivers as they work to navigate the challenges of raising children in our increasingly busy and over-stimulated world, and he enjoys providing a safe space for children and adolescence to help them feel understood and accepted.
Through couple's work, Ryan believes that each partner has valid perspectives, and he works to get to know each person and help them better understand the foundations of their connection, at any stage of the relationship.
Ryan's work is grounded in evidence-based practices and is attachment-driven, strengths-based, and relational. Recognizing that life can often get overwhelming and burdensome, Ryan strives to make the therapy process insightful and comforting to allow for meaningful, normalized conversations regarding emotions that often get overlooked. It is through this mindful-awareness that he believes lasting change can be achieved for individuals and family systems.
When not meeting with clients, Ryan is most likely cheering on the White Sox, counting down the days until the Indy 500, a longstanding family tradition, or attending a Bradley basketball game. He is also an avid board gamer and loves all things space. He values life-long learning and exploring new perspectives. He continues to work on self-development, believing that growth can happen at any stage of life. Ryan believes in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship. He looks forward to hearing your story and providing the tools needed for you to create transformation and produce the next exciting chapter in your life.
