Teresa Thompson

Teresa Thompson, MA, LPC (pending), is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) who is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She graduated from Bradley University with her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling in December 2022. She previously completed the drug and alcohol counselor training and earned her bachelor's degree in psychology. Teresa is a recently retired Master Sergeant who served in the Army National Guard and the Army Reserve.

Teresa has prior experience in substance abuse counseling, working in the mental health department at a correctional facility in Illinois; residential and community mental health case management services; and a Master Resiliency Trainer (MRT) for the Army Reserve. Her primary clinical or mental health focus is working with adults who have experience trauma, mood dysregulation or intrusive thoughts using CBT, DBT, EMDR, resiliency, and positive psychology techniques. Teresa utilizes client centered cognitive based modalities when working with clients. Her focus is working with individuals who have experienced trauma.

In Teresa's free time, she spends time with her family, works on the family farm, and rides her Harley Davidson with friends.
